
According to figures from national automotive association MGSZ, Hungary had an exceptional second quarter in terms of car sales. The months of April, May and June recorded increases of almost 20%, 45% and 32% respectively, compared to the same months last year. This information is relayed by focus2move which goes on to say that this led to a first half year total of 46,000 car sales, 24.1% upon the previous year.
The leading brands in Hungary so far this year are Suzuki, Opel, Skoda, Ford and Volkswagen. They each command market shares ranging from 11.4% to 8.0%. In model terms, the top five reads Suzuki Vitaria, Skoda Octavia, Opel Astra, Ford Focus, Volkswagen Passat.
