TomTom Traffic is henceforth online in the three Baltic states, Ukraine, Croatia and Romania; and in Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Israel. This brings the total worldwide to 64 countries around the world.

With the addition of thewe new countries in the Middle East and Europe, TomTom claims that its traffic-monitoring application now offers the most comprehensive traffic information coverage in either region.

Offering up-to-date info on traffic jams, roadworks and accidents, TomTom Traffic can help drivers find the optimal route to avoid congestions; but it also allows local and traffic authorities the opportunity to monitor, analyse and improve traffic flow.

The worldwide expansion of TomTom Traffic dovetails with the progress in autonomous driving and the growing focus on smart cities and smart driving. Accurate and current traffic info, as sourced by TomTom from more than 500 million devices is increasingly important.

Throughout the year, TomTom Traffic will go live in further countries.
